Bahour

Bahour is a town in Pondicherry that attracts tourists equally as the Ousteri national park does.  BahourLake is famous and many tourists visit the place to view the lake mainly. Bahour has been reported to have heavy settlements of Lignite and surprisingly it has not been exploited because of its closeness to the sea. Removal of lignite would let the sea water seepage adulterate the ground water hence thankfully the eco balance here is not hampered. It is a major access point for villages lying in the south of Pondicherry. Bahour is connected directly to Cuddalore and Pondicherry. In the heart of Bahour is situated the Mulanathaswami temple.

Bahour

The temple belongs to Chola period and the marvel sculptures display the Chola architecture style. The temple has been declared as an archaeological monument. Bahour Lake is a prime tourist spot and a major bird sanctuary after Ousteri Park. Bahour and OssuduLake attract tourists from all around. The lake offers a serene view that’s absolutely calming. The lake, Mulanathaswami temple and the varieties of bird make it an ideal destination for travelers or tourists to make a quick trip away from Pondicherry.
